Roy Campanella debuted for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948, and for the next nine years, provided a solid foundation behind the plate. His number nine has been retired by the Dodgers.

Campanella is considered the greatest modern day catcher of all time. Unfortunately, his career was cut short after a tragic car accident left him confined to a wheelchair.

Roy Campanella was a 3x National League MVP, and was an All Star every season he played. ‘Campy’ as he was affectionately nick named, was elected into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. Buy Roy Campanella baseball cards here
